After skincare, what about haircare? Let's talk about this!

In these days, we talked about silk and skincare. But how can we match the benefits of pure silk to our hair?

When I was a child, I was forced to wear short hair. I was attending a competitive swimming course and my grandma, to avoid rush and losing time, convinced me that keeping my hair short would have saved me time, being faster during competitions and other nice lies that I believed at that time. Once I grew up, out of habit, I continued to keep my hair short; I found it difficult to see myself with a different hairstyle but, in 2006, I finally decided to change.

After the "medium-length scaled hair" phase, when you keep on having messy hair, I continued with small tactical cuts of the split ends, a few highlights and a lot of patience.

And then, once the goal is reached, the problems begin. How to grow hair naturally without stressing it? How can you get a nice blow dry every day? How to keep hair straight and avoid the hated frizz? What about split ends? In short, I had a head full of questions and few solutions.

Searching the internet, I found a fairly famous website in Italy among long hair maniacs: “fairy hair” (capelli di fata). This blog was created with the aim of giving advice to all natural hair wellness products addicted to help increase hair growth in a healthy way, without stressing them. By following a few tips, I can say I have significant and, maybe, healthy hair.

So let's get to the point: my haircare routine. Often, after workout and before washing them, I apply a cold pressed natural coconut oil on the ends for 20/30 minutes, then I start to wash. Having blonde highlights, I use a specific shampoo for colored hair, then I apply a coconut mask instead of conditioner. I leave on for 10 minutes and rinse. Once out of the shower, I wrap my hair in a cotton towel. Basically I don't blow dry my hair unless it's very cold; I let them air dry and then, to avoid the frizzy effect due to Hong Kong humidity, I knot them in small locks for half an hour, in order to have a nice wave and avoid the "frizzy hair" effect.

As for the night, however, I must say that sleeping on a pure mulberry silk pillow case helped me to have shinier and healthier hair. As we have already said, thanks to silk's super smooth texture, hair glides over it without any friction. This means you'll be less likely to wake up with frizzy hair, tangles, or bedhead, whereas cotton can snag hair and muss it up into a nest of tangles overnight. Sleeping on pure silk pillowcase is a secret that women with curly hair have been using for years to keep styles like braids and blowouts preserved for longer without adding frizz. So try to believe! And if you want info about the products I use, do not hesitate to write me!
